I recommend you read Magnet Therapy by Dr Lawrence and Dr Rosch for an in depth discussion of how magnets are used with amazing results in two of the nation's top pain clinics.

If you HAD a degree in bio-physics, you would understand that there is absolutely NO rational mechanism for magnets to have any healing effect. NONE AT ALL. They are no better than placebos. They "work" by fooling gullible suckers into spending big money for worthless refrigerator magnets. MRI uses a magnetic field that is over 10,000 times greater - if biotissue were affected by magnets, MRI scans would have amazing effects. They don't -- because magnets are NOT effective. For anything.

Opus always beats me to the good answers, but again, I agree with him. Magnets are in the same quackery class with homeopathy and reike and colon cleansing. If it works for some people, there are two possible reasons: the placebo effect, or "post hoc, ergo propter hoc" (after this, therefore because of this) - confusing cause and effect. Magnets are nice for holding post cards on your refrigerator.

To fully understand it, it helps to have a degree in bio-physics. What's interesting, is that those who scoff at this modality fail to laugh at the success of MRI's - which stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
If you e-mail Support@PreventionProof.com, they have a great 1-page document that will help explain it. By the way, they have no connection to magnetic therapy; their area of expertise is nutrition.
