My son had this problem as well.. lots of reasons why it could be happening. The no liquids after a certain time is a good idea. The most important thing to remember is he's not doing it on purpose. No kid likes to wake up wet and uncomfortable in the middle of the night so don't make a big deal of it, believe me, he feels bad enough as it is and embarrassed I'm sure. I would definitely speak with his pediatrician to make sure there is nothing medically wrong. My son was a really, really sound sleeper and just wouldn't wake up when his brain told him he had to go to the bathroom, but he eventually outgrew it. Make sure and keep a rubber sheet or some covering on his mattress so it doesn't get ruined and have clean sheets and blankets available for him if he has to wake up and take wet bed coverings off. Love him lots and be patient -

it could just be the adjustment of moving in with you. their are no age limits unfortunately. you could read him a story before bed and give him a hug and tell him you love him. also on the morning when he hasn't wet the bed you should make him feel really proud and when he does don't make a big deal out of it or make him feel bad. other than a psychological problem it could also be a medical condition that has resulted from a sleep disorder so he may need to go to the doctor. look up bed wetting on the Internet and it will give you more info. also see if you can find any books on the subject. good luck.

Yeah less drinking before bed should help, also put towels down just incase....maybe the huggies are a good idea but Im iffy with that because I would think a child would take advantage of that and that the huggies would advocate bed wetting. I use to have dreams when I was younger that I was on the toilet peeing but I'd really be in bed lol hope I helped :) good luck

There are devices which wake a child up when wetness starts in the child pullups. This makes them aware of the need to go to the restroom and over time the unpleasantness of the noise helps them to break the habit. If there is no emotional issue causing this, then something of that nature will probably help train the child away from the bed wetting.

If there is no luck, see your pediatrician so other options can be explored.

Good luck, hon, and let your boy know that we're behind him 100% in his efforts.

actually iv'e been though this myself and have unfortunately passed the gene on to my sons. that said the causes could be sleeping too soundly such that they dont wake from the sensation to go at night. the pediatrician has said that the sensory nerves that trigger the control of urine flow can me immature/underdeveloped for some time. there are wettingalarms available that will sound and wake a child, but i have found these to be ineffective.some times waking them before my later bedtime to go to the bathroom has been helpful, but in the longer run it has been just resorting to use of overnight undergarments ie"depends" type pants. this has enabled them to be a bit less selfconcious of thebedwetting dillema and cuts down on the laudry considerably.
Sorry for the run on droning. but thats my experience.
eventually they will grow out of it. but it could be a long time.
go to walmart or other like store and get some of the overnight type pants. you'll sleep better and they aren't too expensive. 10 bucks for a pack of 18 of the no brand type they fit like underware and you save on your sanity.

There are many products available to help a child over come bed wetting..

http://www.bedwettingstore.com/?source=Overture&OVRAW=bedwetting&OVKEY=bed%20wetting&OVMTC=standard

I suggest placing a plastic sheet then a fitted sheet then a plastic sheet then another fitted sheet on your childs bed... That way when the child has an accident during the night he can remove the top two layers change pajamas and get back to sleep quicker...

Bed wetting has many causes, from emotional trama to physical immaturity of the muscles concerned..

I was a bed wetter as a child and one night I accidentally put my pajamas on inside out one night and didn't wet the bed, I convinced myself that it was because of the pajamas being inside out and continued to wear them that way for several years never wetting the bed again...

Each child will eventually find what helps them in over coming the problem.. Until then try to help your child manage it on his own, let him come up with creative ways to try to over come it... Most of all never poke fun at or make your child feel self concious about the bed wetting, he will eventually out grow it...

thats fine you dont need to have him stop drinking at 6.30 what u should do make sure he uses the bath room before he goes to bed try that for a week if that does not work it could be because of medicine hes on and if its not that dont let him drink pop after 7:00 and i bet it will work making sure he uses the bathroom befor he goes to bed i used to have the same prolbem o and you can get a plastic sheet for his bed so u can just whipe it off after he wets the bed

Well, to remedy the wet bedding I suggest you invest in a plastic mattress cover and some Pull-up diapers.
Then I suggest you take him in to see a pediatrician and rule out any medical conditions before seeking bedwetting solutions.

Have him try to go to the bathroom every 1/2 hour before he goes to bed. Wake him up during the night to try to go as well at least two times a night. I know it is hard but he will get use to waking up and having to go to the bathroom.

I would ask his Doctor cuz it could be caused by many different reasons and the move probably didn't help. Put thick bath towels under his sheets and make sure not to get mad and punish him for it. Not that you would I'm just saying that won't fix it.
