Almost every other country can have them. Isnt it legal for them to produce their own weapons if they feel like it? Since when do they have to obey the USA and Britain and other countries. I know the main reason they dont want Iran to have them is because they think theyll use them against Israel and Israel has said "Nuke us, we'll whipe you off the face of the earth." Israel has the 6th largest pile of nukes...so why do we fear them having them???

Israel signed the nuclear non proliferation treaty and accepted the incentives. That was an agreement not to make nuclear weapons. It would be breaking the treaty to develop nuclear weapons.

The real power in Iran is not the elected president who is presently Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Iran is a constitutional theocracy. According to the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran the commander-in-chief of the military and the seat of authority of the land is the Supreme Leader who is appointed for life by the council of experts - who are clerics. The first Supreme Leader of Iran was Ayatollah Ruhollah Kkomeini, the current Supreme Leader is Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei. It is pointless to talk with him. He gets divine inspiration.

As far as I am concerned no country should have nuclear weapons...
But since some countries have it,why not Iran too?I think US and Israel are really hypocrites to say to Iran not to build a nuclear weapon, while they still have it...Of course they say they can be trusted...How could we trust the only country that ever used nukes on a civil population?
And I am pretty sure, that if Iran would have the nuclear weapon,Ahmadinejad would be smarter than start nuking every country that he doesn't like...
We fear the fact that ,by having the nuclear weapon, they would start control the Middle East...Witch it wouldn't be so great for US and Israel,'cos they too are trying to do this...
And I am pretty sure that it wouldn't be so easy to whipe Iran off the face of the earth...And both US and ISrael know that, otherwise I am pretty sure that they would have attacked them long ago...of course, based on a stupid reason, like they did in Iraq...

The UN has a standing policy that no more nations are allowed to develop nuclear weapons. Only a few countires are permitted (the original 6 with veto power) to maintain theirs. Two things to consider; the more countries who have economic and nuclear power, the less America or France has. 2nd, do you want a country like IRAN, unstable, full of muslim extremists, and other terrorists to have nuclear weapons?
What a stupid question.

The worry is the same as with any country... that if the wrong person gets in to power, they would go from being merely a deterrent, to being (seemingly) a viable option. Countries like Britain and the US arguably have better (though not infallible) safeguards against such things than countries in which there seems to be a high level of religious/ideological fanaticism.

Apparently Iran's Ayatollah and its Prime Minister are much crazier than Bush, Blair, or Netanjahu [or whoever else is ruling Israel at the minute], so it would be crazy to allow them, because they suppose a threat to the world.

However, the question should be, why do we citizens allow our countries to have nuclear weapons, seen the consequences they have?

well first of all, they are terrorist...do u remember what happened 9/11???? this would be alot worse than that....the other thing is the countries that have them are the ones we trust and/or that can produce their own nuclear weapons...not buy the plutonium to make them

this is my point-if iran want nukes fine let them-but you also let them know "point them in our direction and we will fire first" if all the countries said the same-there would be no nuclear threat.

Muhammad, the Prophet of Islam, tells his followers to call people to Islam before waging war against them: “Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war…When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action….Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them….If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya [the tax on non-Muslims specified in Qur’an 9:29]. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them .”

When Iran gets a stockpile of short and long range missiles, a similar message will be sent to the U.S. and Israeli Presidents. If he/she refuses to convert their entire nations to Islam, the missiles will be fired. France and Spain will probably already be Islamic nations by then.
