Well the truth can hurt, but if it is the truth, you shouldn't worry. If being fat bothered her, she would have done something about a long time ago. But most ( I heard 74%) of American adults are obese anyway, and something like 61% of them didn't think they were obese. And if she is losing weight, maybe that comment you made will encourage her to continue to try and lose more. Every doctor knows how their patients can lose weight, every bood store has books on how to lose weight, every woman's magazine every month carries three or four different articles on how to lose weight, there are gyms and healthclubs on every corner, there are almost 900,000 places on the web about how to lose weight - so again, if they are fat, it is because they want to be. I had a former employee who weighed over 400 pounds, and in 16 months she was down to 165. My doubles partner in tennis ( before he started playing ) weighed 430 pounds and in 14 months was down to 175. I see no reason to feel sorry, empathy, sympathy or anything else for a fat person. They can get help, just like alcoholics, drug addicts and smokers. All they have to do to stop being fat is replace bad habits with good ones. A habit ( eating too much of the wrong stuff ) is habit, and the fat person chooses between the good ones and the bad ones.

Well, what CAN you do? The moment has passed. Maybe pray that your words will be a motivating factor and not a painful reminder of her slothfulness? You feel awful, what from LOL and now you have a tummy ache? To answer your original question, when I see a big fat person at a buffet, I think two things: one - let me put back half of these roasted potatoes and two - I think the same thing I think when I see a shopaholic at a shoe sale: "This person is experiencing their ultimate joy!" Truth.

like much of america (and some other parts of the world) she has a problem and should seek help. While what you said was kinda insenative to her, you shouldn't feel bad because perhapse it will make her evaluate her situation and seek the help she needs before she dies of a heart attack. As for what i think, and i know this is mean, but i wonder how in the heck they could have eaten sooooooo much to get to that size, and they should not be eating in an all you can eat buffet.

People who are obese are discusting and it's their own fault. I don't feel sorry for them whatsoever. When I see a big person at a buffet line, I'm not shocked. Matter of fact, I say "shocker" out loud when I witness such. I bet she also has a handicapped sticker so she doesn't have to walk as far to get to the food.

I basically love taking grossly overweight human beings to all you are able to eat buffets only for the seem on the buffet manager's face when I pull out my agency card that announces "criminal specialist" and threaten to sue them for discriminating adversarial to my customer!! We oftentimes get our nutrients loose after that....

To be totally truthful, you don't accidentally say something like that. Or maybe you're not very mature. You should feel bad, but you really should have apologized.

I have a fat friend who eats very little. But she loves to go to all you can eat buffets, because she loves to make the management nervous.

I think to myself that poor soul is lonely .
They have no one who loves them . their only pleasure is masking their pain in food .
They go through life being ridiculed ,which makes them even more depressed .
i hope they sit on you for even thinking so highly of yourself .
no one knows what life has in store for them .
Maybe when you get older you will have to go out in public with Half a Face because CANCER ate it away.
Think about that you inconsiderate @ss
