Sorry to hear od your misfortune, but Stop!!! dont repair it yourself! repairing bodywork is very hard and should only be carried out by professionals with the correct tools!!!
try chipsaway.co.uk they are very good and a load cheaper than proper bodyshops!
I had a small dent left by some idiot opening there door on my pride and joy! 1 hr and £50 later sorted, perfect again.
look at their website, give them a bell and ask where their nearest shop is!

If it's not too deep, it's possible to use a touch-up kit. It won't be the same 100% but it will at least cover up the scratch. You will need to get your paint code, which should be on the catalyst under the hood or on the inside door panel. At the very least, a dealer should be able to get you the code. If it's a really deep scratch, sorry about your luck. I had a pickup truck and some piece of scum keyed the entire hood. It was too deep and I had to replace the hood =(

It depends on how thick and deep the scratch is. I'd say go buy some 3M Rubbing Compound, which can be found at Wal-Mart or any automotive store. Spit in a cloth, put some of that rubbing compound on it, then go to town on the scratch. Hopefully that will remove it.. if not, I think you're looking at getting the whole panel repainted.
Good luck!

If the scratch is through the paint, you will have to repaint. If it a surface scratch it may be confined to the clearcoat. If that is the case, you might be able to buff it out with rubbing compound. Check out the Mothers Powerball Mini (mothers.com) and metal polish.
If you need to repaint, find someone who can blend repair your scratch without having to butt match the color for the full panels.

Hi
It depends on how deep the scratches are - if they're quite shallow, try T-Cut, it's not too expensive and easy to find. If the scratches are quite deep, it's possible to get a small sample of paint that exactly matches the colour of your car - I know if you go to Halfords, they have a chart of all car makes, models, and paint formulations - they'll make it for you there and then. Silver is notoriously awkward to blend though.
Good luck.

has the scratch gone right through the paintwork, ie can you see the silver/grey of the origional pannel before it was painted? if not use t cut, not too much on metalic's and rub until it clears, or buy a touch up stick and fill in the scratch, once dried t cut over the paint.

the best is buy a same color-brushed, you can buy it from eBay or any gas-station or auto-repair center. this bottle looks like a nail polish bottle you just have over paint the scratched part of your car and you can do it by yourself. it does the undetectable job.
