there is a reason for it, actually. if you go into the scorecard "tell me more" link - http://answers.yahoo.com/info/scoring_system.php -it will show that the higher the level, the more questions you can ask, the more answers you can give, the more times you can vote, and the more times you can comment questions that have been resolved

being at level 1, you can only do so much. the reason for this is an attempt to cut down on abuse. a person on level 1, a new account usually, can only ask 5 questions a day. pretty hard for them to spam the system. level 2? 10 questions... catch the drift?

higher points/levels do not mean the person is a good/reliable answerer, for that, you might want to either look at the % of best answers, or even better, look at a few of their answers, to see how they usually act.

Yes.
When I got level 4 they sent a limo round with a couple of hookers and a big bag of gold coins,just as a thank you.Since then ive had job offers from 23 major corporations and the governnment dont make a decision without consulting me first
