You have to get the video game software manufactures to notice you. You do this by entering video game competitions put on by LAN Centers/ Gaming Centers in your area. They are frequently called Lockdowns because the Gaming Center will close the doors at midnight with all the contestants inside and the gaming competition will go on all night. These gaming competitions are national but you have to start out by winning a regional title. When you are the on the number one CounterStrike team in the nation, believe me, the software makers will start courting you to test their latest products.

So first, pick a game you really enjoy.
Enter every competition you can for that game.
Rack up the first place trophies.
Get a talent agent to handle your endorsement deals from peripheral makers.
Wait for your phone to ring from the software makers.

Check gaming enthusiasts websites to see the dates and times of the gaming competitions.

You can really get paid testing games. Game companies will mail you new video games, gaming consoles and related products for you to test. Then you record your thoughts and then they will pay you for your review. The hardest part is locating these companies.

Check out your local newspaper or contact the game company directly via their HR website. If not, cold call them and ask for the HR representative for game testing/QA and submit your resume or an application for consideration. Sometimes the game companies will have open houses or job fairs. Worked for me! I was employed by EA Sports but not in QA. I was their meeting coordinator and a facilities technician. Great places to work! Good luck!
