I got a huge bruise from my shoulder bag
( it keeps hitting my leg, while i am walking from class to class! I swear that there is something pointy in there but, everytime I look there is nothing but my books, and all the other school supplies!), How can I treat the bruise?

if u want the pain to go away quickly (within a couple of days) then i suggest getting some bruise treatment cream from the chemists. i use Lasonil (but i am in Australia so i dont know about where u are from). apply the bruise treatment and massage it in. yes it hurts, but u r loosening the clotted blood. if possible, wrap the bruise up to keep it warm which will make the blood flow easier as well. u can't get rid of the colour of the bruise for ages. that has to heal itself. but to get rid of the pain, try what i said above.

I don't know if there is any real evidence behind this but I've heard it works - apply heat with a heating pad (but not directly to the skin, that can cause thermal burns). The heat will cause your blood vessels in the area to dilate, increasing the local blood flow. That, in turn should increase the oxygen supply to that tissue, which can only be good. I've heard the heat helps break down the blood that's causing the bruise, speeding up the healing process, too.

Actually there's nothing you can do about bruises on your arms and legs. If it's on the eye then that's another thing. A raw steak will do the trick! Leave the bruised alone and it will go away. Keep hitting hit and it will get worse!

First try switcing arms to carry your bag.
When a bruise is new treat it with ice. When it is old, remove it with heat.
I have found that popping a vitamin e cap and applying it makes them go away sooner.

Ice and arnica gel or cream... Arnica's great for bruising and pretty inexpensive... Lasts forever too and doesn't have a smell..
