Give it time. Eventually, you will remember him for all the good he has done.

I will miss Steve Irwin. He was a fascinating, clever, and knowledgeable guy, and the world is a slightly lesser place for him no longer being in it. Normally, I do not mourn the deaths of celebrities, but every once in awhile someone like him comes along, and I just feel, somehow, like I know him. I could be totally mistaken, but he seemed like a man without pretext. The Crocodile Hunter was adventurous, fun-loving, and constantly enthusiastic. I wish I could have spent a few hours in an Australian pub with him, quaffing beers and swapping stories. What a man!
Be OK with missing him. Appreciate what he did in this world, and let yourself grieve. It will take time to get used to the idea that he is gone, but you will come to terms with it.

It just happened you need time to help get so you can have good memories and not dwell on his death. It just takes time to grieve.
