Hurricane Katrina made landfall on August 29, 2005...her major impact that is...she hit lower Florida a few days prior. The hurricane force and tropical force storm winds occurred the ENTIRE day though...on a Monday I do believe...I'll never forget it...

Hurricane Katrina actually formed over the Bahama's on August 23rd. It hit Louisiana and Mississippi coastlines starting on August 29th 2005. I was there and it was truly a monumental disaster.
