Who would win in a fight, Sonic or Mario??

People are forgetting that Sonic has a side kick too, not just Mario.

Mario. If Sonic ran off, as is suggested by "Mario would never catch him", then Mario would win by default. Sonic isn't faster than Mario in a battle situation, only when moving long distance.

Plus, Mario could become Mega Mario, Fire Mario, or find a star, and whoops, game over for Sonic. Sonic can... um... curl up into a ball. Mario's clearly a star jumper, and would outmanuver Sonic in a battle situation. If we're using Super Mario Advance rules, then Princess Peach could whup Sonic. If we're playing New Super Mario Bros rules, then, two or three ground pounds would see Sonic off.

Come on, if Mario can get Bowser every time with his shell and spikes, then Sonic's a pushover by comparison.

I have always encountered this kind of debate and I finally give out an answer to who will win, Sonic would win in a death battle with these two. Not only is Sonic much faster, Mario's star power is temporary. Once Sonic knows that Mario has a power-up, he will know to get out of the way until his power-ups stop working. Mario has a wider variety of power-ups on his sleeve, but Sonic has the chaos emeralds that are far powerful than any of Mario's power-ups, even the white Tanuki suit. Once Sonic gets all those chaos emeralds, it's game over for Mario, literally. Mario wouldn't have enough reaction time to get out of the way of Super Sonic's attacks, Super Sonic can fly and is even faster than normal Sonic who can run at the speed of light (which is 700 miles per hour). Even if Mario does get a power-up, he has to make sure he can catch him and not have a power-up that is too obvious. Sonic always manages to destroy machines that Dr. Eggman makes by spin dashing. Also, Sonic manages to smash the machines that Dr. Eggman is on. If Sonic can smash robots, he can certainly knock Mario out of the way. Also, considering Mario's star power lasts for a shorter time than the Super Sonic form, Mario would regret trying to use Star Power while Sonic has the chaos emeralds on his side.


All that being said however, Mario could easily kill Sonic off if he makes just one mistake (trying to get close to fire or star Mario).

Mario has many power ups such as the fire flower, or the mushroom,yet Sonic has speed. Sonic's average speed is the Mach 1 which is about 765 mph,Mario would never catch him,also Sonic has the fire shield which could counter Mario's fireballs. Mario could use his White Tanooki,but Sonic has the chaos emeralds, he can turn super sonic and go faster than light speed. In a match with no power ups Sonic would still win. Sonic's spin dash alone can tear through robots and in Sonic CD's opening scene,solid rock. While Mario can easily save the princess from King Koopa Sonic could easily beat him Mario is too slow

Honestly, even though I'm a huge Sonic fan and I do not like Mario. I will say it's a tie because they both have powerful moves. Mario would have terrible time ever catching sonic, so Sonic has a huge advantage. But if you took all of Mario's power ups, he can be considered wiped out already. Even without Sonic's 'extra' power ups, he is still born with speed so he would be able to keep from being hit

Obviously sonic. Don't get me wrong i like both of the characters but hands down sonic wins for a variety of reasons. First reason sonic is faster than mario in combat, he's faster in evasive maneuvers and in running. Second reason Sonic has taken down Giants robots, Aliens and armys of deadly robots all mario ever did was hop through tunnels and kill turtles and mushrooms also sonic can transform into super sonic, Hyper sonic, werehog, dark sonic, excalibur sonic and darkspine sonic. Third reason he can control time with the chaos emeralds and he could easily destroy bowser with ease and less time then that plumber. Third reason sonics spindash and homing attacks are extremely powerful and sonics ground pound does more damage than Marios does all in all sonic wins.

Mario - He's a man. Sonics a hedgehog. Therefore Mario could be between 5 ft 6 in and 6 ft on average and Sonic is probably about 4 inches. Mo contest.

If Mario tries throwing fireballs at him Sonic has a Fire Shield, If Mario has a star power up Sonic has an invincibility shield or chaos emeralds, if Mario throws Sonic in Water Sonic has a bubble shield that lets him breath under water, but if Mario was thrown into water he would automatically die that is unless you guys start the fight under water.

Mario for 2 reasons...
Once sonic gets hit with some bull****, he's pretty much a gonner or gonna be too busy picking up his golden rings he lost from the blow. Ultimately allowing anyone to torch him from behind with a flame thrower. Mario on the other hand, may be a bit on the pudgy side, but give him a mushroom and he pretty much has two chances to survive a potentially fatal blow, and the deffinate win, would come from that lucky yellow star. One touch to Sonic while he's golden, bye bye hedgehog.
