There will be direct communication with satellites so you do not need to worry about being in an area with cell towers. I am not referring to the huge setups needed now for satellite communication, just small phones like we have now.

No because we are in the 21st century and we are so busy living our life. Some of us have to hold down 2-3 jobs to make ends meet and we would lose communication if cell phones are never used again. Do you think that the economy will ever go down like the good old days when doctors only had cell phones? I don't think so.

No, if anything, house phones will be obsolete before anything else. Cells are convenient, easy, and many more other characteristics that the average human wishes upon.

i'm pretty sure we will have implants that read the thoughts of the process of making a phone call (and allows the phone call itself) if society lasts that long.
