Sure it's great to have a bike, just remember, in the rain. you will either be riding in it or asking someone else for a ride!

Here's the best bike for a girl starting out. It's cheap in price, but not in quality. The Kawasaki Ninja 250cc. It's around 3400.00 new in the USA. They are considered a sport bike, top speed with a gf of mine, was over 120 mph. She loves hers.

Also things you will need.
1.Vanson Perforated Leather Jacket w/liner.
2.Kevlar Gloves.
3.Full face or Flip up helmet, I say get the Vega Flip up. Best price on the link below.
4.Boots for ankle support.
5.Take the riders safety course.

It is not weird, just not smart. I am not suggesting this because you're a girl, I am suggesting this because I hate seeing young riders go down. Many car drivers are unaware of the road. They read, talk on cell phones, play with the radio, eat, you name it. It's hard enough in driving next to these fools in a car. Learn about the stupid maneuvers they make from four wheels. Then get a bike. Break a stereotype.

No it is not weird for a girl to own/or drive a street bike. I started riding a street bike about 6 years ago, I started out real small and have worked my way up to a bigger bike, I enjoy riding my street bike and you will too, ride safe and keep it between the lines..

Its cool when they have it to ride it. Its stupid when a girl or guy for that matter has a bike or car or anything that they just use to get people's attention. I'm not saying that you are like that. If you want to ride a street bike, ride a street bike, it shouldn't matter if you are a guy or girl. Besides if you race someone you have a better advantage because nobody likes to get beat by a girl.

Not at all! Although judging from your wish list, I think you're thinking of sport bikes, not "street" bikes per se.

And there's ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with that. It's true that motorcycling in general is still male dominated, and that's even more true of sport bikes. But so what.

Guys shouldn't have all the fun! I got my first sport bike at 38; don't wait as long as I did!

My wife learned to ride when she was younger than you are. She rode a Honda 360 to college and now she commutes daily on a 750 Honda. I see by you other question that you are serious about motorcycle safety. That's a good sign. You do what you want to do.
"Ride your own ride" , as we say.

I think it’s hot, but not for your first vehicle. Friends of mine that are paramedics like to refer to teenagers on sport bikes as “ORGAN DONORS”.
