I have xA, I have done this before. I think it could work on the tC too.

1. Turn on the ignition and make sure it is on your odometer display, not the trip display.

2. Turn off your ignition. Hold down the trip meter reset button and turn the ignition on. Keep the button pushed in.

3. The maintenance required light will flash for a few seconds. when it turns off, let go of the reset button.

The the display will change for 1 second and go back to the mileage.

That maintenance light is telling you that something is not right. Don't just have it shut off and drive on. Have your car looked at by the dealer as soon as possible. Chances are that it is just a small problem. But if don't do anything about it, you may be risking damage to the car. BTW, if your car is still under warranty, they may charge nothing or very little for the work.

Take it to the shop for the maintenence it's suppossed to get and have them reset it... that's about all you can do unless you have the correct computer hookup to tell it to turn off.

You should call the dealer and ask what to do

usually it stays on for a little bit, a little under 5 minutes, right when you turn the car on.

but if it stays on, bring it into service. something may be wrong.
