It really depends on what you are looking for. There are the ones that you only need to worry about it once every 3 months this would be the nuvaring a ring that is inserted in the vagina of the depo shot that you get a shot every three months. The draw back on the the deppo shot is that if you decied that you would like to get pregnant it can take up to 1 yr. after stopping the shot to be abel to get pregnant. Then there are the ones that you only have to worry about once a week that would be the ortho-evra patch. Draw backs are they say that you recieve a higher and more steady rate of the estrogen. Then there is what is called the mini pill this is just low doses of progesterone. The draw backs is that they are not as effective as the other oral contraceptives I believe it is 89.7% effective. The last is the typical oral birth control. The ones out there that I really like is the Yasmin with has a drug called aldactone this is a diruretic which will help with bloating. Another new one is called YAZ the benefit of this is that when you do get your peroid it will only last 4 days. There is also the birht controls that you will only get your peroid every 3 months that one is called seosonale. I hope this helps you get started. Otherwise just make an appointment with you doctor and tell them what you are looking for in a birth control and they can help you find what will work best for you.

DO NOT GET THE DEPO SHOT! It is clear that you are young, like I was. I am now 25 & I have been on the shot for 8 years. Through a bone scan I just found out that I have osteopenia in my hips & spine. Its almost osteoporosis & it was caused by prolonged use of the shot. They said if I didnt get off the shot & start taking calcium supplements, I would be crippled in 10 years. So while it may be the most convenient way, being that you only get it once every 3 months....its not worth the risk!

It is different for every woman. I cannot take the pill because every time I do, I end up bleeding severely and then I have problems with anemia. But my dr tried me on the Nuva Ring, and it worked, and I liked it better than the pill cuz you dont have to worry as much as you would about taking a pill each day at the same time. U put it in your vagina, leave it in, and go about your business, and change it monthly.
Talk to your gyne, and tell him/her about your situation. They will be able to help you decide which is best for you. Theres so many different types out there. That should help put your mind at ease.
Good luck

just go get on the pill!! But there are a ton of options out there! Shots.. patches...pills.. diaphram.. IUD.. it depends on what you feel comfortable with! Go to the health department or your dr and have them talk to you about what would be best for you! I agree with you.. if I was just using condoms I would be freaked out all the time too! Good luck!

i'd say pill or depo injection...depo works best for me but you really should speak to a doctor...I tried three different types of pill before depo and they just weren't right (or compatible) with me one had me a nervous, paranoid depressed wreck. So i would recommend talking to a doc first. Hope you find something thats right for you :)
