Hi Kelly. Listen, I know other people will give you advice with your problem (I hope you are seeing a good doctor), but I just wanted to write to support you as a person. Like you, I have gone through a lot of my life feeling really depressed. I thought I was so unattractive. I was always self-conscious and unhappy. But one day a very wise person gave me a gift and I want to share it with you. She told me that healing starts from the inside out. Now I finally understand what she means. Healing your acne is really important to you and that has to take place on the outside. That's why you need good medical advice and therapies that work. But that outside healing isn't the whole story. You also need healing within because this situation has hurt you in so many ways. You need to know how much people love you. You need to know just what a truly lovely and wonderful person you are. You need to really believe in yourself and feel that the world is a beautiful place for you. That kind of inside healing comes from the love of your family, your friends, and even from the help of good counselors (I couldn't have made it without having people to talk to about my feelings; people I really trust). But it also comes from you. Only you can really be your own doctor of the inside. That's your territory. So start inside listening to what I say: you are a fantastic person. You are beautiful. You are special. I send you all of my support and love, Kelly. You keep believing in yourself and don't let saddness get to you. Things will get better. So let the healing begin! Have hope and see how much better that feels on the inside! I will be thinking of you every day. I will be sending you my healing love.

I HAVE THE ANSWER TO ACNE!

I have a teen aged brother and me who have struggled with Acne for years...we tried many things, including Proactive and prescription medicines as well. Then, we found the solution.

Please don't shrug it off because this can help you a lot.

I was searching through the Internet and found www.acne.org. The site is owned by a guy named Dan. Dan, struggled with acne as well. He read medical books and tried many things on the market. Then, he found the way. BENZYL PEROXIDE! Now, I bet you have used it many times before but it hasn't done much right? Well, the reason is because everything on the market is 5% or 10% Benxyl Peroxide. These irritate your skin which causes MORE acne! (Touching it irritates it as well which causes more acne.) There is one thing on the market that has non irritating Benzyl Peroxide....2.5% Benzyl Peroxide. Netrogena on the Spot Acne Cream has 2.5. Nothing else on the market. You can get stuff on the Internet that have 2.5%! It is also on the site www.acne.org.

The regimen includes: First washing your face with a cleanser (suggested ones are on the site)

Then, drying and adding LARGE AMOUNTS or Benzyl Peroxide. In the beginning very little but you rank it up to 2 fingers after time.

Last, you moisturize, because the Benzyl Peroxide may dry up your skin. Suggested ones are on the website as well.

Go to www.acne.org and read about the clear skin regimen.

THIS MAN IS NOT TRYING TO MAKE MONEY...HE IS NOT SELLING ANYTHING!
He just wants to help. I have clear skin and so does Dan. There is also a forum where you can read more. The site teaches you how to pop a zit the right way and to find out other products that have work well.

I hope I Helped!

(My brother who is also a teen is clear as well. This regimen takes about 8 weeks to be completely clear but you will see gradually the acne go away. There is no cure for acne, so you have to do the regimen every day until acne goes away.)

I used to have acne and no matter how many things I used to clear it up, they never really worked. I tried proactive, pills, topical stuff -- everything. Some of it worked a little but my face never cleared completely. Then I just made a simple change and switched to a different makeup. Apparently the makeup I had been using the cover up the acne kept making it worse. So I started using makeup by Almay called Clear Complexion makeup. It's great for acne prone skin and clears blemishes because it has skin purifying ingredients and medicine in it. I haven't had a breakout since!

I've never tried acutane but heard it's dangerous and it may cause you a lot of problems that will be hard to deal with (especially at your young age) I say try out every safer available option first.

I know how you feel. I still suffer from acne, and it was severe for a few years when I was younger. Obviously the dermatologist can help prescribe some topical treatments for you. Unfortunately you must use them for a while, for them to start working. If you have been using your current regimen for some time, see if it's time to try something new...maybe even a new dermatologist. There may be some prescription pills available that would help...either antibiotics or something to help your hormones...I would ask your dermatologist or doctor. As for Accutane, it can work, but it is very strong and has many side effects, so be careful about making the decision to use it. I currently use a three step sytem similar to Proactiv and take a prescription which helps my hormones, but everyone's acne is different and that makes it so hard. Just hang in there, and know it may take some time for you to find the best treatment. Acne is a terrible thing to wake up to everyday. I can be physically and mentally painful. I really hope that things will get better for you. : )

At Walgreens you can find Acne Free University Medical Kit ($21.99)or Klear Action ($21.99).They're half the cost of Proactiv's and it works as well.
Acne Free: you need to use it only twice a day because it is a time released formula that works 24/7!!!! It is so good that it got most of my husband's blemishes away in only 4 days!
Klear Action: one of my best friends had keloids for months due to a severe acne condition and with Klear Action the keloids where completely gone in a month!
After the blemishes are gone, to get rid of the acne scars, there's also a two step- two times a day Acne Scar Free Kit also from University Medical ($21.99) or try Neutrogena Acne Scar Peeling ($14.99). Personally, I tried Neutrogena's and I finally got rid of a scar that was with me for almost a year.
Another tip: beware of the sun it could make your scars get worse. Use an OIL-FREE MOISTURIZER with at least SPF 15, like Biore's, Neutrogena's or Medical University ($11.99- $17.99). Remember that most acne fighting products tend to dry your skin.
Make sure that your hands are ALWAYS clean before you touch your face.
And have patience and be discipline: most treatment would take 4 to 8 weeks to get ALL done!
If it doesn't get better: See a dermatologist

Right after you take a shower, put some mosturizer on your face. Then, in the night before you go to sleep, use Duac. You only need about a pea size amount for your whole face. This works for me really well. The Duac really did me a lot of good and I'm 14 years old. Maybe you shouldnt take the oral pill with it and try to do this in this order. Hope I helped! Good Luck! And keep going with the Duac since it'll clear up your face and also brighten it up. Trust me, it works. Email me at breathtakingbeautiful@yahoo.com if you still need advice or help on this.

You need to do the following things to get rid of acne. 1) exercise. It will help your body git rid of waste that you don't need which in turn will be bad for your skin. 2) stop eating so much sugary foods and try to stay away from sodas/pop as much as possible. 3) wash your face with a mild soap at least twice a day. Then use a facial scrub/cleanser a few times a week to remove extra dirt and cleanser your pores. 4) You may have oily skin which causes break outs when it clogs your pores. So use products that will help git rid of oily skin. 5) make sure the lotion you use on your face doesn't cause build up. You can read the label and see which lotions are good. Lubriderm is a good lotion to use on your face and body. 6) Don't use alot of alcohol or peroxide on your skin to get rid of bumps, but it wouldn't hurt every now and then.

I've never had SEVERE acne, but I have had it quite a bit in the past and i swear by Neutrogena Visibly Even face wash. I use it every night before bed and it clears me right up and keeps it that way. It won't dry out your skin and cause any redness and it helps even out any redness you already have, they also make it in a body wash too.
