Well the biggest news is that the Crows are playing - would you believe - Fremantle in a Qualifying Final this first w/e of the finals. Both teams are equal 2nd favourites for the flag after the Weagles. Port have missed the finals to the disappointment of bogans everywhere. And thanks to some blatant fixtures rorting, Collingwood have made the finals but an early exit is looked forward to.
Thorpey has moved to Los Angeles and has been spotted chowing down on some greasy burgers - charges he vermently denies but the fat rolls don't lie. So keep an eye out for him, he could do with some guidance back on to the straight and narrow.
And we almost made the quarters, and then it was very likely the semis, of the World Cup!! (soccer)... if it wasn't for those cheating Italians... days of national mourning but we're over it now.
umm... what else matters... there's a $2000 rebate off the cost of converting your car to LPG. House prices in Sydney have actually fallen but theyr'e still going thru the roof everywhere else, especially Perth... Steve Irwin died... for some reason bananas have gotten really expensive and it's big news, I sh*t you not!
Finally, all conservative politicians have resigned, stating they were just too selfish to have any part in government, and not to be out done, senior Labour pollys have publically whipped themselves for being so cynical and treating the electorate like meatheads... ok I'm fantasizing now (but not in that way)

What is different?
- Johnny Howard managed to put in some nasty 'Industrial Relations' laws. People are not entirely happy about it, but he has kept the media situation well enough under control that he can keep power.
- The tolls here in Sydney are causing a bit of a ruckus.
- People still don't want to use recycled water. Some main centres, like Toowoomba, have less than 2 years water left.
- For rain, it was an average year. Winter was nice, but I fear that much of the place is still in drought.
- Kim Beazley is once again the Opposition Leader
That is about it, off the top of my hat.
O yeah, Howard is going after uni students again, this time the unions. No suprise there!
Cheers mate,
R_A.
