Irrational racism is bad. Generally speaking, the kind of racism that is practiced in the world today is not a good thing because it is based on irrational fears or beliefs and causes bad decisions.

Theoretically, racism based on rational thought is not bad. It's OK to hate someone if you have a perfectly good reason to hate them. Of course, you ARE subject to the judgement of other people; they are judging you and determining if your hatred is rational or not.

I think the kind of mistrust, and possibly hatred, many Israelis and Muslims feel for each other can be considered a form of racism.

Certainly it is a sad state of affairs, but I don't think it could be called irrational, or possibly even wrong on the part of either side. There is just way too much water under that bridge on both sides for it to be irrational.

If it is rational, is it bad? Sure, it is preventing peace overall in the middle east, but if that sort of racism can save your life, is it evil? Tough judgement call!

And discrimination is neither good or bad. It is making a decision based on what you know. Is it bad to avoid, say, a crack dealer? Of course it isn't bad, that person can only do you harm. That is discrimination too, you know.

You need to define and refine your terms. The world just isn't as simple as you would like to believe.

Yeah, but what can you do. In America where half of us are brought up this way, and is sad. Part of it is ignorant. Part of it is that our government seems to promoted it, too, that's why it seems to get worse all the time. I wouldn't doubt it that someday, this country is going to be rule by guys like Pee-Wee Herman type character. It's awfully sad. It's backwards, and somehow most of us are satisfied with it, which really is sick!

Well of course im against racism and discrimination. racists are close-minded weirdos who think they're superior to everyone. and some racists simply follow whatever the media is trying to portray.

it is totally wrong just to hate for hates sake. we are born loving everything and everyone. hate and racism are taught, whether in the home or by peers. when the next generation learns to think for themselves, when we learn to tolerate ignorance without participating in it, we'll all be better off.

I'm with you. Nobody asked to be born a particular race or religion or have a certain culture in their background. I want to know about the inner person, not their appearance .
