I think he was a great writer and musician. He's definitely managed to have a lasting impact, no matter what anyone says of his character.

He was pretty humble by celebrity status today. Consider how huge the Beatles were and even are today.
He was cynical enough to be modern, but that was out of place in the sixties.
His great crime was falling in love with someone who was not popular. "Oh no, she took him away from us".
Wah wah. Baby lost a pop musician.
He was a brilliant wordsmith, a unique musical talent and he made the world a better place than it would have been without him.
He had ego and humility and like all of us, mortality.
i did not agree with everything he said and did, but yes, he is as great as "they" say.

He was a very smart man, an an idealist. His ideas were a bit Utopian, albeit beautiful.
i'm sure that he likely had a few skeletons in his closet, but for all intents and purposes, he really seemed to be a great visionary. Too bad he died before the world really started listening, or we may have just seen some of his dreams come to fruition.

A very talented musican and songwriter who truly cared about the earth and other people. Tragically his life was cut short.
I think Paul McCartney is the one with a huge ego.

I like Lennon's voice and music, especially late Beatles.
I think overall his "ideas" were stupid, like most hippies in the 60s.

Actually, those altruistic thought of his were encouraged by Yoko. Until he met her, his entire philosophy was very different. She is a very opininated woman with a lot to say. He listened and found his truth.

i like his ideas. He didn't seem to have a personal agenda, or anything evil planed for what he did or said. He just wanted peace and he expressed a little differently.
