He was a great person, very eductional, informative, and funny. I've loved him since childhood. And I used to love repeating his sayings. I was completely shocked at the idea of his death, I wish it hadn't happened so that he could of at least received an honor for his work before he died.

I liked him. Especially because he had a love for animals most people would be too scared of, informing his viewers of the most dangerous creatures of wherever he was. And of all the things he had confronted, giant man-eating snakes, world's deadliest spiders, rumbling with crocs, he dies from a stingray that poked him in the wrong spot. I'm glad that he died doing something he set his life on, not by like a car accident or something. Unfortunately he had to leave behind his wife and two kids, but he did what others could only dream of doing, and I admire him for that.

I found out he died late last week. It saddens me that such an avid animal lover and activist has left the world, but I also think that he did some pretty wonderful things in his life and loved his work and his family. It's very sad to think that his kids will grow up without him right there, but he left a wonderful legacy for them.

Yea i heard about it. Shocked me. Didnt believe it until i saw more on it.
Of course i liked the guy. Most animal shows weren't so great, but he made it so appealing and funny. He showed such a variety of animals and pretty much started other animal shows like his to pop up.
He was great and will be missed.

When I first heard about this morning by internet, the news story just listed his name alone, without a picture. As I went about verifying who the name belonged to, without even realizing it at first, I was saying to myself, "...please don't let it be him."

What a terrible, terrible loss. I remember, years ago, when my family and I first saw one of his television shows on the Discovery Channel. We were all thinking, "...well, who is THIS character?" We were all hooked immediately. So charismatic, funny, and brave beyond anything most of us will aspire to! Steve Irwin taught us about things most of us would have otherwise never known or cared about.

What a shining light! It's so tragic that he has been taken not only from his family and friends, but from all of us.

I wasn't his greatest fan but I definitely admired his love for animals, many people might consider that as foolish whim but its called Passion. I hate reptiles but he would make them look friendly and less creepy with his ever popular, "Just look at him ...... its beautiful!"
I'll miss him.

Yeah, I'm sorry for his wife and kid(s?) but he made a living out of doing stupid things and it finally caught up with him. I didn't like him or dislike him but he did seem to promote foolishly dangerous behavior.
