That usually happens the first few times u do it. Ur skin down there is used to being "protected" I guess would be the right word. Ur skin will get used to it after a while, and by a while, I guess about a good year. Bumps here & there are inevitable. Don't invest in the sensitive skin shaving cream. Ur better off with the shaving cream that lathers up most. And as for the razor.. the more blades, the better. Guys razors work best for every angle.

Yes u can avoid the bumps, shave WITH the grain of the hair (how it grows) and use a really good shaving cream or gel with moisturizers
U can also pay a bit more and get a total wax

I only shave once a week (sometimes 2 weeks if I'm lazy) I find it helps cut down on the razor burn. Waxing is a good option, but i find it a little too pricey for me. If you get the occasional ingrown hair, a drop of visine will help clear it up. Don't know why, just know it works!

Use this and you will never have redness or razor burn or bumps ever again or you can get your money back. I have been using this product for month's and I love it. Shave everyday if you want because it's safe to use everyday.

i shave often and irritation occurs because this is an extremely sensitive area .. i think its better to wax, its kinda harder and u gotta be really carefull, but to me , irritation when i wax is far less than when i shave , and it stays nice and pretty for a longer time :)
