Well, I was in the RN program myself, but I dropped b/c it was so expensive. They recommend that you don't work while in it, b/c you have to devote so much time to studying, and being that you are a single mother of one, I think you would have to work and spend time with your child. Maybe you should think about choosing another major, unless you have money saved up and have good study habits. There are plenty of other career choices in which you can make good money that you can choose, and they won't demand so much of your time, energy, and resources. In any event, whatever you choose to do, I hope it all works out for you. :)

I think you are NEVER too old to go to college. Even if you have to wait another 4 years, it's okay. I don't know what you need to become an RN but good luck.

Go for what will make your life better in the future....My mom was a mom at 16 and again at 18 she was a single mom by 21. Raising two bad kids....(my brother and I) she always wanted to be a RN but never got the chance... I wish she would of, but she thought her kids would need her when she was at work and at school...Please don't make the same decision she did...She has worked herself to the ground for her kids, but doesn't realize that she wasted the social and work part of her life to raise children (not fair to her)...Please go to school...and be something you want to be...Kids are your life but how are you going to raise them without enjoying your job at the same time...

your child will be in school soon, use the time to study. i know you will be better parent if your happy.your child will reap the benefits. speak to your local college/university see what hours you would need to do. what support is available. i think i have heard nurses courses currently get funding from the government to attract people to the career......im sure it will improve your life and motivate your career. not sure what is required however i do know if you plan for next year as a mature student (age21) things change and entry requirements may change. good luck and enjoy

definitely go to school!
there are endless resources and aid available for people in your situation. i would go to your local community college and talk to a councilor though. i have a couple of friends in the nursing program and i guess its pretty demanding. ....but i think you can do it. =)
the longer you wait the harder it will be. make your kid(s) proud. =)
