Liberals and republicans are spouting the same thing - that it's only the extermists - it's called being politically correct. However, I know muslims living right here and they aren't violent anymore than you or I. Lumping them all into one pile is like saying that all Christians blow up abortion clinics. They is no more true than what you are implying.

I definitely agree with you, although I have not read the quran, koran, or koraan, however the heck you ppl wanna spell it. I know for a fact that the quran, in context does mention killing infidels, particularly speaking of people who don't follow the faith, and eat some kind of meat....which i'm not clear on which it is, which is considered unholy in islam.
And to Alessandra, yet again, just because it mentions peace does not mean that Islam, in and of itself is a peaceful religion. It says to kill infidels. That does not speak of peace.

Yes, indeedy, they are acting that way as a poster said, because after all Israel harmed them. Whenever they attack Israel, and have done so since 1948, Israel fights back. Just how rotten can a nation get anyway? Israel is supposed to sit there, and take it and take it, until they are all dead as the Muslims around them have vowed to do for 58 years. Bad, bad, Israel fighting back against Muslims who only want peace -- and nothing is more peaceful than the dead nation of Israel.

Ignorant fool.
If you're going to be anti-Islamic, at least get your facts straight.
You are a terrible person to judge an entire race just by the actions of a few. Furthermore, have you ever considered that the West may have WRONGED them in someway? And yes, I am talking about Israel.
And I too have read the Quran, and "IN CONTEXT, it CLEARLY" says to that their are TWO JIHADS: the LESSER Jihad is to fight, the GREATER JIHAD is to PROMOTE PEACE.
Those terrorists that perform the LESSER JIHAD aren't as faithful or true. They do NOT REPRESENT THE ENTIRE RACE.
You are a terrible, inhumane scumbag, I am sorry to say. Get your facts straight and quit judging other races.

im a christian and a conservative so don't get me wrong. in the muslim religon, the gihad, or thee spread of religon, is one of the fundamental beliefs. when the koran was written, the spread was through a greater mindset and logic, showing the infidels the error of their ways. However the muslim countries are stubborn, and create a democratic theocracy, which, like communisum, cannot be accomplished. They are narrow minded and refuse to compromise or accept that people can believe what they want.

It's true, in my opinion, that Islam is a religion of agression. The peace in Quran is only refered to when speaking about inter-muslim relations otherwise it clearly says infidels as well as christians and jews are enemies.
"O ye who believe! Take not the jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.
( سÙرة اÙÙ
ائدة , Al-Maeda, Chapter #5, Verse #51)"

Pikthal English translation
"They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them,"
( سÙرة اÙÙساء , An-Nisa, Chapter #4, Verse #89)
Ye will find others who desire that they should have security from you, and security from their own folk. So often as they are returned to hostility they are plunged therein. If they keep not aloof from you nor offer you peace nor hold their hands, then take them and kill them wherever ye find them. Against such We have given you clear warrant.

It is definitely a clash of cultures more than religion (there is plenty of smiting and mortal defense in Judeo/Christian texts as well). The culture demands subservience of women, of armed conversion, of moral absolutism in the name of God enforced by the most unGodly acts.
Religions and religious texts aren't violent in and of themselves. PEOPLE CHOOSE to be violent. If they use Islam and Allah as contextual support for their acts, they corrupt the religion. True, Mohammed became a warrior-prophet after the age of 50. Such was the way of life on the Arabian peninsula, man's occupation was to plunder, rape and pillage (the infrastructure that would support static employment was simply non-existent).
Christians did invade the Holy Lands 1000 years ago (or less). They did commit serious atrocities against non-Christians in those lands. They also allowed a free and secure Jerusalem for all faiths for 100's of years. Something the Israelis and previously the Ottomans had trouble with.
Humans who plot to kill other humans for some material or spiritual gain are to be ostracized and judged on their actions, and yes we can extend that argument to governments who engage in pseudo-official warfare to augment their material holdings. I don't think the US military went into Iraq with the mindset that all Iraqis would lose their material belongings and must convert to Christianity. On the contrary, there is much religious freedom (including the freedom to kill other sects at whim, apparently) in Iraq, and much freedom of movement, expression and pursuit of one's livelihood. These freedoms were 'imposed' by American dictate. Would Islamic fighters impose such freedoms on lands they invade, and people they 'liberate' from the infidels.
It is time to STOP artificially balancing the argument to benefit Islam. Those who issue anti-American/Brit/Western fatwas should be called out as HATERS of peace, as INCITERS of violence, and anti-Islam in the most meaningful way. There is no threat to Islam but from within, because for as long as Islam is being co-opted by the extreme, the very existence and proliferation of the religion is imperiled. These extreme commands coming from the most literal interpreters of the Quran put the entire body of Islam in danger of a full and resolute attack by the Christian West. This would include a return to 'imperialist' occupation of lands where the West deems the indigenous people as a danger to human civilization (no education, no skills, no political or moral inclination to peaceful coexistence with other faiths/cultures, etc.). That is NOT the route most Muslims (if they realize where that road would lead) should prefer.
Essentially, there is a distinct record of achievement in the Judeo/Christian West, one that has to date quite outshone anything of human value coming out of the Islamic world. When you are, for whatever reason, branded as extreme, violent, terroristic and globally impotent, the issue is not with your accuser, but likely with YOU. This is what Islam must come to realize, that the world will not convert, that their sons are being led to die needlessly, that violence sprinkled in far corners of the Christian world will only mean violence rained down in heavy force on all the corners of the Islamic world. That is being played out as we speak, and the winner is ultimately clear and it is not Islam.

Hate to tell you, but I wouldn't group all Islamics into the "hate" category. Islam (whether we like it or not) has the biggest population in the world, so if you want to fight all Islamics, you will certainly lose. Maybe we should remember there are fanatical Christians (who would probably kill gays if they could) and Jews (and I'm a Jew) as well and they aren't too nice either!

Let's see how is invading a country with no wmds and no involvement in 9/11 an act of peace? I do recall that some passages of the Quran do preach peace. You need to do some rereading and rethinking.
