Don't pick your nose in front of the other students. They'll tease you relentlessly and then who knows how you'll react.

I'm assuming from your photograph that you are a teacher, an administrator or a coach. The person on the photo is too old to be a high school student. If you are a teacher my advise would be to not be a hero. Do not bother trying to engage students who don't come to class prepared to learn. Take the students who are obviously trying to achieve and put your energy and concentration on them. Give the cut-ups, the class skippers and the lazy asses busy work and then forget about them. Remember, the biggest correlator to student success is the income and education level of the parents. If the parents have nt done the job of making their kids understand the importance and seriousness of education by the time the kids are in highschool, it is not your job to pick up the slack. High schoolers are on their way to young adulthood and they need to be responsible for taking their own education seriously. Getting rid of tracking in California schools was a huge mistake as far as I am concerned.

Don't be nervous it's not as bad as you think...Have fun and enjoy it because the next day you will probably get homework. Be positive and introduce your self to as many people as possible to try to make new friends, because then you will have somebody to sit with at lunch. Have fun and good luck!!!

Be yourself. Don't try to fit in, people will respect you more. And focus on school, you will have time to socialize and party after school and on weekends.
