I would try Katy (west of town). I grew up around there, heavy ag. influence, lotsa farms and stuff and the people are freindly. You can try the north side too, but don't go south of FM 1960. Any little bitty town will be like that.... Magnolia, Montgomery, New Caney..... pretty much anything up US 59.

Sugar Land is a beautiful area and there's lots of forest/lakes/nature going on. You should check it out. Also, it's the 3rd best city to live in in America as of CNN/Money magazine.
