When my son was about 5 or 6 years old. I dressed him up as Mario (from nintendo) easy and cheap. He had some jean overalls I made his hat and white goloves, got a red turtleneck shirt. put some brown boots on him, Got him a mustache. He was the hit on halloween. We kept hearing hey mom theres Mario, can I do that next year.

A wizard, a bin bag and some purple and gold paper will be enough, cut the bin bag down one side and at the top so you have a large piece of plastic, gather it up a bit at one end so its like a ruffled collar, cut some purple and gold star shapes out of the paper and stick them on, get a cheap witches hat from either Asda or some other cheap place and bobs your uncle, a wizards cloak and hat, dead cheap and different to last year.

A cowboy. When my nephew was three,I dressed him as a cowboy and he looked adorable. All you need are jeans and a jean jacket, a blue or plaid shirt, boots, and a hat.Fortunately, having just moved to Ohio from Oklahoma,he already had all these things except the hat;it cost about a dollar at the discount store.I added a toy holster and gun, a bandanna around his neck and used black Halloween make-up to create "stubble".Inexpensive and cute!

This probably the last year YOU can decide - so what do YOU want him to be? Something cute and adorable that he would NEVER wear at 5, 6 or 7 - like a lion cub or a dinosaur!

If he likes the bloody scary stuff there is a great Frankenstein costume at lillian Vernon. If he wants something diffferent he could be a teddy bear with a big red bow

They have really cute costumes for that age at Wal-Mart and they are not that expensive - try there at this age it is usually cheaper to buy a costume than make one - unless you can sew and have the materials at hand!@ If you have the materials you can make him a clown outfit - or a devil's outfit - he would be so cute!@

hmm, a vampire, eh? cool. maybe a giant pumpkin? or a mummy, just get lots of toilet paper! I guess a witch is a bit girly, maybe a wizard? or how about a ghost? that's always fun. or how about an alien?
just throwing suggestions!
