You can get a bottle of stuff referred to as "dry gas" at auto stores, I've even seen it at dollar and hardware stores. It's supposed to attach to the water molecules and evaporate them. It's a solution to old/bad gasoline. Fairly inexpensive to the alternative to siphoning out tank . . (hopefully got it all?) Mechanic will probably tell you to drain tank (not very hard to do!) flush and refill. Helped?

Water is a lot heavier than gasoline. Locate the drain plug on the fuel tank, then park the car so that the drain is at the lowest part of the tank. Let it set for a few (15-20) minutes. Loosen the drain plug until liquid drips out. Catch the liquid in a clear container like a Mason jar or the like. The water, if there is any ,will drain off first. As soon as the gasoline starts dripping out, close the drain plug. No water will be left in your tank. NO SMOKING.

Put one of the additives that takes water out the gas into the gas tank. Water is denser than gasoline, so the fuel pump can't pump up the water. That's why the rig will stall if there is water in the tank

Gas line anti freeze, or dry gas, are additives which contain mostly ethanol which mixes readily with the water and will "dry" it out of your tank.

Other consequences may include the CHECK ENGINE light if you continue to leave the cap off. That's because the internal tank pressure is monitored by newer cars.

Go to an auto parts store and buy some Iso-Heet (yes i spelled it right). Dump that in your tank and fill it completely up. No worries after that. It, for lack of a better term, evaporates the water in the tank thru the fuel system. basically it burns off any water in the system. no worries.

I would pump out as much as possible and then add isopropyl gas line antifreeze. That will cause the remaining water to actually bond with the gas and the mixture will burn out harmlessley. Getting most of the water out first is important because the iso will only help with a small amount of water.

Most cars have a piece of metal that covers the opening- look when you gas up. You may not have gotten water in your tank. If you did, they sell something at the auto stores that will evaporate water in your gas tank..

If you got a lot of water, you'll have to drop the gas tank and drain it, if not much you can try STP gas treatment or something smiler. If money is an option you can try ethyl alcohol(rubbing alcohol-the white kind.bottle of this will help

What happens is your vehicle runs like crap!!
Add a bottle of rubbing alcohol, or spend more money by buying one of the additives which is formulated to dry water from the gas tank.

Just get some STP fuel treatment and add to your tank. I doubt you got much water in the tank if any.
