im 5'4" and am about 139...i have lost 14 lbs since becoming pregnant 12 weeks due to some serious morning sickness, my dr. has tried 4 dif. kind of pills to make it go away, were trying to avoid me being hospitilized again, the most recent pill i was put on was for chemo therapy and pre/post surgary patients which blocked the serotoin i think to make me not feel nausous or vomit...and this isnt working anymore.
*another thing...being only 12 wks along should i be showing and should i already be having back pain? i dont get to see my dr. until thurs. and would like to have a list of nessary ?'s to ask.
* could this be related to the fact that i am only 17? (be 18 on sept. 19th)
*anybody else take Flinstone Vitamins because others are too strong for tummies? my ob/gyn said to take 6 but upon looking at the back and seeing that it contains 3000 IU's of vitamin A and i should only be taking a max of 10,000 IU i started only taking 2, could that be heathy still?
thanks

Well, as far as showing it could be some bloating. I'm 19 weeks pregnant with my second and started showing right away but I believe a lot of it was bloating. As far as back pain, I'm sure it's possible I mean you do have an expanding uterus and growing baby inside you. It's not related to the fact that you are 17. I got pregnant with my first at 17 and I didn't have any "symptoms" or problems the entire pregnancy except heartburn. I would go to the store and get some prenatal vitamins and take them at night. I took flinstones with my first but only took one a day till I got the other vitamins. Make sure you share your concerns about the vit a with your dr and see what s/he says. Best of luck!

I would seriously see another doctor if you can't trust him about vitamins. Morning sickness is a horrible thing to go through but it is natural. So try natural means to help it. Eat protein every 2-3 hours even through the night. Protein is eggs, milk, meat ,nuts seeds, cheese, yogurt, etc.I always had dry Cheerios by my bed to eat before I got up. They may not taste good but they absorb stomach acid well. Drink tea if you can't keep water down. You only need medication for morning sickness if you are getting dehydrated constantly. Because the medication may do more harm than good. Mentally you just have to accept it and know that it will go away someday.
Also, I complained about my pregnancy problems to a priest once. He said he has heard a lot of complaints from pregnant woman but that each one had different problems. So your age has nothing to do with it. I've had seven kids and each time there was a different problem. But I always got through it and all kids are perfect. And you will be fine too, if you have a caring doctor or mid-wife.

Oh my. Make a list of all your questions and concerns and take them to your doctor on Thursday. Today and tomorrow won't make that much of a difference. If your doctor seems bothered by your questions, find a new one. That's what they are there for.
You should be starting to feel better soon, coming to the end of your first trimester.
Some women don't start showing until they are about six months. Just go by what your doctor says. Not what other people or books say. Don't compare your pregnancy to anyone else's either. They're ALL different.

You should be fine. I would make a list of any questions you have and discuss them with your doctor. I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and I didn't really start gaining any weight until my 5th month and now I am measuring ahead. I didn't start showing until my 4th month. Every one is different and their symptons are different. Just make a list of questions and ask your doctor. If your doctor doesn't seem to asnwer your questions, I would suggest finding a new doctor. Good luck to you.

its normal to experience those things on a 12 week pregnancy. so for me, i dont agree with those intakes and pills you took to get rid of those symptoms. its normal.
and too much vitamin A is a risk for pregnancy. ive read it from a reliable source. your doctor should know about it.
normally your morning sickness will last until the 3rd month, after that you should be ok

It's normal to be showing at 12 weeks and to also have back pain. No one ever said being pregnant was fun.

the weight loss isn't as much of a worry as the pain is. If they can't find something that works for you, I would either keep trying or get a second opinion
