Try and snap yourself out of it. Exercise helps as does relaxation. Remind yourself of your accomplishments. Treat yourself.

Try never to feel powerless, I think thats what causes depression. Tell yourself that there is a way out of every situation that is depressing you. Sometimes it takes hard work but it can be done

When you're really depressed, it might be hard just to get out of bed. But if you can, do something, anything to get your mind off things.

Go for a long walk. Exercise might lift your mood.

I like to go to the movies. Good place to escape.

Call up a good friend.

How long have you been feeling depressed? Do you feel you no longer not enjoy activities you used to? Have you lost your appetite? Have you experienced sleep difficulties? If you feel depressed you should not feel ashamed, seek help!
That is my advice, seek professional help. Do not wait for it to be over just like that or to just snap out of it.
