A custody battle for my youngest daughter who was 14 1/2, and whom I had raised on my own for 7 years. It was not only my husband who fought me in court, but my 2 older daughters, who got on the stand and told a bunch of lies. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was completely destroyed. And these were people I loved, trusted and worked my butt off for - and their stinking father was a physically abusive alcoholic. They put him on a pedestal - God only knows why. That's when I found out that a child of 12 can ultimately make their own decision as to who they want to live with.
But somebody mentioned 'karma' in one of the other anwers, and it's true. I eventually met a wonderful man, and my life has been on the upswing ever since.

Told by the love of my life that he needed time to figure things out. While I kept a semi-distance (wasn't out of touch with him -- still saw him once a week or so), I didn't know that the other woman he was dating (who I didn't know about at all) was heavily pursuing him and ignoring his request to have a break to "figure things out".
Less than 2 months into this "break", I ran into mutual friends who informed me that he was getting married the next month. That's how I found out about the other woman.
Basically I got punished for giving him his "space." Yeah, yeah, I know, I won in the end because I was spared heart break from being with someone who would treat me so disrespectfully. Tell that to my still broken heart. Waaaah.

When these boys were so cruel--hitting, throwing, punching, kicking. Calling names, making fun of me and my two friends. That was the worst thing that has ever been done to me.
A close second is when my friend stopped talking to me because I had changed for the better. But since he didn't like the new change, he dumped my azz and left me feeling like a piece of sh!t.

I was turned down for a job I really wanted and deserved at a company I have worked for for many years, paying the dues so to speak.

That's rough buddy but don't let bitterness rule your life, you know your mother loved you. Replace the thoughts with those happy times when she put a plaster on your knee or hushed your worries and let you sleep. remember that
