GWB went after Saddam because Saddam invaded two neighboring countries, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, to conquer them and seize their oil fields. The first US troops captured in Gulf War I were nabbed in Khafji, Saudi Arabia, by Saddam's invasion force.

Once Saddam made his intentions known and he was beaten back militarily, the international community offered him a temporary cease-fire in which he was required to hand over all his WMD materials and weapons.

Saddam defied the cease-fire requirements for the next ten years. In 1998, President Clinton and Congress passed the Iraq Liberation Act making it official US policy to remove Saddam by force and install a new government in Iraq. Clinton tried, with a massive days-long bombing campaign and support for insurgent groups, but Clinton failed to achieve the objective.

So, GWB stepped up and used sufficient force to fulfill the conditions of the Iraq Liberatoin Act. Bush finished the war that Saddam had started.

A recent report to Congress reveals that we've found over 500 of the banned chemical artillery shells (old ones Saddam was required to hand over), uranium enrichment centrifuge parts, master biological samples for bio-weapons, Saddam's attempts to buy triggers for new atomic bombs...

We are now helping Iraq's legitimately elected government suppress Islamists trying to overthrow the country. We are required to do this by Geneva Conventions. Once Iraq's military can handle the job, we will be allowed to withdraw our forces.

If North Korea goes on a rampage of invasions, it too will experience what Saddam did.

George W. Bush, recently admitted last week that Iraq nor Saddam Hussein had anything to do with 911. That being the case what was the real reason for sending troops; and why are we still there?

Because if the US attacked North Korea then China will help them out ...... Iraqi had no allies and at the time the war was justified but now we can't get out because it would cause more harm then good .....
