I always liked Batman, mainly because he made himmself into a superhero. He's not an alien, he didn't get bitten by a radioactive spider, no one locked him in a tank and forced adamantium into his bones. (Yes, I know Wolverine was a mutant before that, but that still fits in with my thinking on this.)

The writer and the reader. No matter what, the writer's imagination can soar and thrill people. The reader because he is like the writer's food. Without the reader, the writer might get bored with his work.
Aside from that, I've been partial to Superman. He's the first non-Greek mythology hero to which I was introduced.

Da-da-da-DAAAH! I present to you, the audience, my submission: Matter-Eater Lad! Think about it. What do you suppose his power could be? Is he super strong? Really fast? Able to tear apart and clean a carburetor in less than twelve seconds? No my friends, all valiant powers, but none can compare to: the ability to eat matter. Any matter, it doesn't, um... matter... anyway, hailing from the planet Bizmol (der), from the far flung future, Matter-Eater Lad is just plain cool. I mean, c'mon, look my picture. He's wearing sunglasses. Nothing cooler than that. Nothing.

John Stewart—the Black Green Lantern.
Power Ring that turns your very thoughts into
Real objects. The human mind is the greatest weapon
And the power ring just reinforces that idea.

V (V from Vendetta)...As of style and Charisma, He is the Casanova (though in a deeply disturbed way!!!) of Action Heroes. Smart and Debonair, Elegant and Classy, BUT ELUSIVE AND QUICK, LETHAL AND DESTRUCTIVE!!!
