Honda Metropolitan top speed? Any upgrades to enhance top speed? Hoping for 50mph top speed.?

I want to purchase a Metropolitan but fear that the top speed may be too slow to safely operate the scooter on arterial roads (ie 45 mph). Does anyone know if there are any tricks to increasing the to speed?

Honda Metropolitan top speed is around 35mph. If operated as a moped, you would be subject to some very expensive citations for illegal motorcycle operation when exceeding 30mph . . can't have it both ways!

You have two choices.
#1 Get something bigger.
#2 Choose a different route.
