I have had my job for about 4 months now and I hate it so much, but I have to keep it because the pay is good and the medical insurance is 100% paid. (Plus, I'm trying to build up a good work history) The people here drive me nuts and the job is so boring.
If you were in this position how would you make yourself get up everyday at 6:30 am to go?

therealmikebrown: I have paid many an ER bill in cash and that's why I had to get this job. I know what ouch feels like.
and to bubba: If I was sitting on my butt I wouldn't have this job. And I do have a LOT of medical problems, so I have to have this insurance.
Why does everyone on this site have to be such a jerk when answering questions? This was just a simple advice question. Lighten up people.

I have an attitude about work...
"Go ahead and fire me, I was looking for a job when I found this one."
So, with that said, do what you have to do... if the job is real boring is there something you can do at the same time (like take an online course or something... I know there are reception/night clerk type jobs that sometimes allow this).
If it is about building a good work history, do what you have to do to stick with it for a year, then start to seriously look for a new job, but remember you do not have to take the first one that comes along, find a match for you.

I would do it for at least a year. Then look for another job you like. It's hard, but I think you are doing the right thing.
Is there anything you can do to make the job more interesting? Can you make any process improvements? If you show the employer your value, can you get a promotion so you can make a difference?
I think it's great that you want to build a good work history. And it is also very important to have health insurance. Just tough it out and try to have a good attitude in the morning. I have had many boring jobs, and it's all in the attitude. Just do the best you can and in 8 or so months, you will be much more marketable.

Two ideas.
(1) Keep telling yourself that your only option is to swim every morning in the Blackwater River in your little bunny suit.
(2) I don't know how many co-workers you have, but, as a retired CSI, I suggest you pretend that you Must be on time to post a worker, beginning with the most boring.
On arrival go through your prep routine. See if the body is out of the cooler. Figure what it weighs. Get your instruments in order. Make your prelim notes - you know the routine. You can even do a summary report on your computer.
With everyone there presenting some kind of issue; consider it your job to determine the exact cause of death! And rock on! -- Until you find another job.
---------
In any meeting you would be amazed at the interest you display when imagining what the person talking would like like with a Y incision in their chest and their scalp pulled down over their eyes! The problem? It gives such sterling objectivity that they may promote you!
Then you would be stuck there forever.
I wouldn't normally go this far but your situation sounds darn serious. Might need to do some posts on this site!

When i worked I just thought about the pay check
especially the times I worked with people who were not nice people to work with. But look for another job. I did and moved on and stayed at the other job for 6 years before I retired.

BE VERY THANKFUL FOR THIS JOB THAT YOU DO HAVE. TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME. IF THE JOB IS BORING COULD YOU TAKE SOMETHING TO DO TO HELP YOU WITH THE TIME. OR GO TO THE BOSS AND ASK TO DO OTHER THINGS. THAT WAY THEY KNOW YOU WILL WORK AND DO MORE. JUST HANG IN THERE. MOST PEOPLE WOULD GIVE ANYTHING FOR A JOB WITH INSURANCE AND GOOD PAY.

go without food for a couple of days or withot electricity or air conditioning, that'll inspire you to work.
Watch a documentary on a third world country and you'll be more grateful'
Get up off your butt and find another job. happiness will add more to your life than insurance. (unless you're already dying)
