I like the Smallville triangle storyline. I could see this Lana more with Lex than Clark and also becoming bad. There is a trust issue.

In the comics, Lana wound up marrying Pete Ross, who was one of Clark's closest friends. (This is the post Crisis version of Pete Ross, who did NOT accidentally discover Superman's identity and keep the secret by helping to cover for Clark [without Clark knowing] whenever Superman had to go into action and people noticed that Clark was missing.)

In the comics, Clark wound up marrying Lois, Luthor eventually became President of the USA, and his hand-picked running mate was Peter Ross! So, Lana wound up married to the Vice President!

But, unknown to everybody, the Manhunters (the predecessors of the Green Lantern Corps, who had rebelled against the Guardians) had secretly implanted mind control devices in everybody in Smallville except the Kents. They had failed to prevent the Kryptonian child that was prophesied to become the greatest Green Lantern of them all from reaching earth, they did the next best thing which was to try to neutralize his infuence.

[Refer to the glcorps.org page for more details on the Manhunters and how everything they did fits into the continuity.]

Lana eventually lost Pete's love, and I did not see those issues but I suspect it had something to do with the Manhunters or Luthor or both. Probably someone knows that Lana knows Clark's secret, and is behind the scenes, manipulating. I know that Superman rescued her from something, or met with her at her request, and she kissed him.

I am sure Lana regrets not having accepted Clark's offer to travel the world with him, when he was still gettin gused to his powers, before he began his public career. She would have made a good wife for him.

Lois is good, too. I hope nothing happens to Lois, because they have already done too many stories over the years where Superman's wife keeps dying and he keeps remarrying and is never happy. He deserves some hapiness.

And, so does Lana. It's not her fault that the rocket landed in Smallville, and it's not her fault that Clark is such a nice, decent guy. It's not her fault that there's only one of him. I'm sure she must be kicking herself. I feel so bad for her, for all of them.

Sorry, I don't mean to get so wrapped up in what are, after all, only comic book characters....

Lana Lang was Clark/Superboy's first love!

It is even part of the plotline to Superman 3.

Which is kinda creepy cause "Smallville's" Martha Kent is the same actress that played Lana in Superman 3.

It depends.
Before 1985, Clark was head over heels for Lana who wouldnt give him the time of day.
When DC started the story over in 1985, they tried to pursue it but HE backed off, saying she was more like a "sister" to him than a girlfriend.

Forget the films. They dont even go into it.

Haven't read many of the comics.
The Smallville series has a bit of romance between the two of them.

I think there is a relationship in the comic but I'm not sure it will ever continue in the comic or smallville, though.
