Steve Irwin was swimming in the Barrier Reef off Australia doing some filming. He was swimming above a string ray, when the ray got spooked and attacked him. The ray hit him with his tail just below the rib cage on the left side sending the barb up under his rib cage and into his heart. He pulled the barb out immediately. I'm sure without an autopsy report, the barb put a large hole in his heart and he bled to death. He lost consciousness right away, and was dead by the time they got him back into the boat. What a tragedy and a great loss!

He was killed by a stingray whose barb went straight through Steve's heart. How sick is that! Steve pulled it out and so he died. I really wish that the useless me would have died instead of the greatest and liveliest person on earth who brought joy and happiness to the world.

He was working on a documentary in Australia when he got stung in the heart by a sting ray. I heard that it was not the poison that killed him, it was the fact that the barb got him right in his heart & that's what actually ended up killing him. R.I.P. Steve. Gonna miss your crazy talk!!!

Why are countless people asking this question, when you can get the full news story from the Yahoo homepage, MSN homepage, and countless other sources? Or turn on the TV? Why bother everyone else with a question that takes little effort to get an answer for? I swear, this site is making people lazy as shat.

"Until he extends his circle of compassion to include all living things, man will not himself find peace."

~ Albert Schweitzer

Steve certainly did that, enjoying peace within his wonderful family and circle of friends as they worked at what they do best. Let's hope his his efforts, through those who love and continue to be inspired by him, continue beyond the shock and grief we all feel at the passing of such a great bloke.

Love to Terri, Bindi and Bob and all Steve's friends as they journey on.
