first you do the division part 36/9=4 then u do the parentheses
7-4=3 then you do what left 9+3=12 so your answer is 12

If I remember this properly... you divide 36 by 9 first (4 so then you have 9+(7-4) then you could just do the parentheses and you have 3, so you have 9+3 which of course = 12.
Remember... always do whats in the parentheses first, and if there are multiple problems in the parentheses, work the division/multiplication first, then continue in the parentheses with addition/subtraction.

Use the method of PEMDAS. P is for parenthesis, e is exponet, m multiply, division, addition, subtraction.
1. First take the numbers in parenthesis
2. 7- 4= 3
3.9+3 = 12
