You can crave sympathy absolutley and there is no ends. You can die craving it and still not get it. We do not live in a sympathetic time, we live in a time where people shoot each other for a foot by foot square of pavement to sell drugs on, a world where people abuse their children in many different ways, and a world that is almost always fueled by war. With all those things going on who has time for sympathy? Feeling sympathetic for somebody can even get you killed nowadays, so why feel it. Its human nature to crave sympathy because it has been so very much deprived from everyone. The sad fact is I would say about 5 percent of the world actually gets the amount of caring they need. As you read this right now your dying, should I feel sympathetic yes, but why do I not? Because its LIFE.

I'd hate to admit this, but when I was young and super depressed I would sometimes wish someone would get into a car accident so I could get some sympathy. Its silly now as an adult, but I think that is as bad as it can get.
