What should I do?
I am in the midst of hopefully switching Jobs. I had an interview on friday, for a decent job with a fantastic company. It went well

Meanwhile back at the ranch. My boss at my short bus job ****** me over. Here's how it happened. One bus run was disolved because of a driver who retired. So they took the montior for that run and put her on MY bus and shifted me off the bus with the driver and kids I have worked with for two years, but me on a bus with kids who are behavior problems and proceeded to also cut my hours. They had all summer to tell me this was going to happen but chose to suprise me with it. Also my boss had a chance to tell me when I decided to be upfront about my interview privately. She chose to break the news to me by handing me a folder in front of a crowd of people.

The dilema is this. Even if I dont get THIS new job I am not working there much longer. I have 25 sick days I never used. My mother who also is my union rep. is furious that I am contemplating calling in sick all the time to use my paid sick days. However, I feel like they screwed me and I want that money. I have been nothing but loyal to these people.

I know you are angry. You have a right to be. I would be to.

Don't lash out. When the chips are down sometimes all you have is your dignity. Don't let them get that too.

Plus the working world is a small place, too small. Word can get around about bad/crazy behavior.

If you have been loyal/good and they are the shmucks... it will come back to haunt them, and you will be blessed in due time.

Without going into details I was really screwed at a job that I gave 150% to, but then they let me go. But it turns out that my experience there was just the ticket to open the door to a MUCH better job, with a great company.

Everybody gets justice in the end, don't waste your chances at it turning out good for you by sinking to their level.

I think it is never a good idea to tell your current boss that you are interviewing for another job. They decide well this person is quiting anyway lets screw them over . (they see it as you screwing them first) I would definetely take all the paid days that are owed to you before you do quite because they will never pay you for them any other way. Forget about revenge but you do want to find a better job if the new one does not pan out

Nothing but loyal, yet you went on a secret job interview? And you got a changed assignment when your disloyalty was discovered. And it's all their fault, so now you will be really disloyal. Sounds like a plan.

was a bad idea to tell your boss about interviewing elsewhere. now they can assume you're a goner and will plan accordingly. you're pretty much screwed there so might as well stick it to them and call off sick, repeatedly. then pray this new job pans out.

It is never a good idea to pay back bad for bad. Christians say turn the other cheek. Some say carma will get them. But the main idea is what comes around goes around. They will get what they deserve and so will you if you repay bad with good you will get good in return.

Id say use them. You have sick days for a reason. And especially now since it sounds like they did screw you, i would definately use them.
