If you are not a licensed vet tech (which involves schooling), you can get an entry-level job as kennel help. This usually involves cleaning cages and kennel runs, feeding and bathing the dogs and cats. You can also be a receptionist, answering the phones and making appointments.

there is now a college program in Canada that allows you to take the vet tech course instead of going to University. You Can volunteer to start, but the likely hood of being hired on without any official training is slim.

Like any other worthwhile vocation you might have to go to a special vets school, hopefully there might be one near where you live..... stop in at some of your local vets and ask them in person........thats your quickest way
going to school ..is very extensive and costs a lot of your time,money, etc, but if you want an exciting career this would be a top choice!!!! You have to love animals of ALL kinds unless you choose to specialize in one type, such as small animals, or larger farm animals..........i say go for it!!!!! and God bless!!!!

It might be a good idea to start by calling an animal shelter to volunteer. This will be the same kind of entry level tasks and it would give you an idea of what you'll be in for.

You don't have to have any training to clean cages and such but if you want more than that for a career then you will have to take a course like veterinary technician.
