1.) To activate the Hot Coffee scenes on the PS2 and Xbox you need an action replay. There are a bunch of code sequences that have to be input into the action replay to activate it. As far as I know, this is the only way to activate Hot Coffee on the console versions. As far as the PC Version I believe there is a patch that can be downloaded, but I do not know from where. I'm sure a simple search on google can find it however.

2.) Hot Coffee is a "mini-game" with Grand Theft Auto San Andreas that is centered around the sexual activities of your player character (CJ) and the various girlfriends in the game. The actual look of this mini-game is unfinished and rough. The characters are still fully clothed and the scenes mount to nothing more than dry-humping.

3.)The fuss came from a couple of different things. Anti-video game activist and hack of a lawyer John Bruce "Jack" Thompson claims to be the one who first uncovered Hot Coffee and exposed it to the world. When it first came out about the scenes, Take-Two initally denied that they were within the game, blaming the mod-community for changing the game. It wasn't until the scenes were found within the PS2 version that Take-Two finally owned up to having the scenes in the game but admitted that it was not supposed to have been accessible and locked and not part of the main game. The politicians have latched onto this and have (unsuccessfully as of this point) tried to pass various legislation restricting the sale of mature rated video games to minors. The legislation has run the gamot from trying to ban them completely from everybody (Tennessee, failed in committee) to the basic restriction at the point of sale and fining employee and chain it was bought from (some of them trying to make the punishment more severe than even the penalty for selling children cigarettes and liqor like in Illinois where if I remember before it failed the politicians tried to make it a felony compared to their cigarette law which is only a summary offense), to fining the buyer of the game (Minnesota). So far every legislation that has somehow passed when it comes to this has been contested by the ESA and and the judges have ruled them as (rightly) unconstitutional. Check the site for the Video Game Voters Network to see what politicians have decided to ride this particular band wagon as their platform in the upcoming election.

4.) Murder is worse than sex, obviously. No one should ever take a life. Of course that is the real world. What we are talking about is nothing more than a computer program and in a video game, it's fair game in my opinion.

5.) Not sure about that rumor. I believe the Japanese version doesn't have the code for the Hot Coffee scenes in the game. The American version won't work in a Japanese PS2 unless it is a modded system as far as I know.

6.) That is all there really is as far as controversy. Vice City had a thing with the Haitian community, but considering the back drop of the game (1980's Miami, where there supposedly was a Cuban, Haitian gang war type deal in the real 1980's Miami) they shouldn't have cow-towed to anybody about.

The thing that needs to be remembered is that the GTA series is nothing more than a satyrical look at American culture during the time-line of each game. A lot of the things that the politicians, Anti-video game activists, and hacks ramble on about that the player "has" to do in the game (killing cops, using the services of hookers, then killing said hookers for a refund with interest) are actually things that the player is not forced to do. They are given the option if they want to. These games are "sandbox games" that allow the player to do what they want within the game whenever they want without having to really take part in the main story if they do not want to. And as far as the amount of violence and sex in these games, it is nothing more than what you see in movies like Goodfellas, Scarface, or Boyz-n-the Hood or Menace II Society (which have been shown on cable television. Sometimes in the late afternoon/early evening like Goodfellas has been on TNT as of late).

And for Junior who just decided to bash the questioner, just because he worded questions 2 and 4 the way he did doesn't mean he truly knows what theis whole thing is about. That basic amount could be found easily on the internet to set up these questions. If all you are going to do is bash people for asking a question they want to know something about, then maybe the one who needs to do some growing up is you.

It's totally removed from newer versions of the game. It had an unlock you could download to play when you went in with your girlfriend after getting her happy-bar high enough on dates. You shagged the girl, whoopee. It's totally pixellated and not worth the time, compared with everything else you can find for titillation on the web.
