In my part of the country, we shoot them. That is not always an option. You may want to consider the expensive proposition of having them live trapped and moved, but they are likely to return.
They are digging for grubs in your lawn. If you get rid of the grubs and other insects, the armadillos will dig elsewhere.

If you have armadillos you have three options.
First is to fence the area so they can't get in.
Second is to remove the grubs and worms from the lawn so they don't have any food to attract them. It might be hard to find a chemical to remove the worms that local laws allow using. That leaves....
The third option is to trap them with a strong raccoon type cage.
