I agree W does appear to be as batty as a bedbug. The Dean comparisons to Nixon surely seem relevant. As far as threats to the National Interest, the electorate seems to be on the verge of replacing all the wacko neocons in Congress who've been a rubber stamp for Bush and aren't likely to vote for another chickenhawk president in 08. So Bush's spiralling mental state may actually benefit the national interest.

He was smart enough to cut taxes (for the wealthy, according to Dems). I don't care if the wealthy got a tax cut (they pay most of the taxes). Tax revenues are up over 10% following the cuts and everyone who loves more government spending can rejoice that the goose keeps laying those golden eggs for ALL to enjoy.
I would say that one important issue qualifies as looking out for the best interests of the country (as opposed to being a threat). You guys will never get it.
You think in such a short-sighted manner and do not understand the longer term ramificatons of many important decisions. Never have, never will.

Impeccable sourcing once again - why didn't they interview the homeless winos sitting in puddles of their own urine - now that would be some hard hitting investigative journalism... Ah yes, Canadian journalism - they wouldn't know a Conservative thought or idea if it gave them a fiver (or $4.53 US) for a bottle of KY for their next happy party. Canada has that refined European spirit gained from France, where there is never anything worth fighting for, and they haven't met a fight that they couldn't retreat from... They HEARD from this source that someone MIGHT have said something... Oh, that's different, that makes it the Gospel truth then... Have a clue, my north of the border coward, we have a president who is very much in control - too bad you folks can't ever find anything worth believing in, or that you'll ever take a stand about anything meaningful...

Bush went over the edge when he gave his life to Jeezuz, after which he lost the use of even his very limited brain.
