No, if you have seen the musical wicked or read the book you would learn that the Tin man was in love with the wicked witch's sister who the house fell on... The wicked witch then " helped him out" by making him hollow inside so he wouldn't feel the pain ever again.

no...but i found the movie funny cuz each of the characters so obviously already had what they were "looking" for....
the scarecrow kept coming up w/ schemes, even tho he kept complaining bout not having a brain
the tin man kept crying and being scared, even tho supposedly he had no emotions
the lion kept sticking by his friends even tho he was so "cowardly" on the outside
