Yes. I would eliminate all foreign aid, except loans guaranteed to be paid back within interest within a few years.

I would eliminate all domestic aid, except limited time support for job retraining and guaranteed loans to military personnel and students.

Yes , but the worst aspect of "Giving" it away is where does it end up ,? Fiddled away by the leaders of the recipient countries ,and we never know how effective these sums are for the intended purpose , or know the real truth of what really happens to the Money , The Money (Billions) wasted by the Government in our own country proves what a bloody mess the whole situation really is

Too much of my hard earned money is spent on a corrupt war that Cheney and Halliburton are profiting off of. Too much is being used to subsidize big business. The rich are not paying their fair share and they've made all their money by ripping off workers who actually do earn money through good honest hard work.

Under both Republicans and Democrats there has been terrible corruption by corporations and other financial interests. The result is that massive amounts of OUR money is spent to benefit business interests, not ordinary people. Whether it is the Katrina disaster or the Iraq war, billions and billions of taxpayer dollars are spent and wasted. All this results because we now have a delusional democracy - a fiction, a lie. Read the great new book Delusional Democracy to learn how we can fix the nation.

A more important question is: how much bang for our taxpayer buck is the government getting?

By providing a safety net for the unemployed & providing assistance for basic needs (such as food, clothing and shelter) for our neediest people, how much is crime reduced? How much money do we all save from that reduction in crime?

How much does our foreign aid get us in trade concessions? How much do U.S. companies profit from the aid we give to other countries (i.e. how much of our aid is given on the condition that it is spent on American products)?

How much of the money that is "given away" to American farmers and the poor is put directly back into the economy through spending? Close to 100% of it. Looking back at the volatile economic swings that used to occur in our country PRIOR to the New Deal programs, could these "give aways" actually be helping to stabilize that nation's economy (to the benefit of all Americans), making the swings of our economy less dramatic and destabilizing?

Sure, there is wasteful spending in the government, but a closer look at the impact of "give away" programs reveals a larger, more positive impact upon our entire nation than the simple act of flushing money down a toilet. Just something to consider.

Yes. I feel our government gives too much money to the dead beats of this great country of ours.

The middle class doesn't make enough to take advantage of the big tax breaks. The middle class earns too much to qualify for the dead beat handout programs.

When times get tough, the upper class & businesses tighten up. In turn, they lay off workers & raise prices of their goods. Consumers by less. The entire trickle down of money slows to a drip.

Bottomline ... Money given to the dead beat handout programs is money wasted. It doen't help the economy. Money does NOT trickle up!!!

Without a doubt. I believe we give something like $10 billion dollars in forgien aid. Thats just crazy when there are people in this country who dont health care and most major cities lack suffcient facilites to house the homeless at night especially during the cold (sometimes dangerous) winter season.

The government takes too much of our hard earned money in the first place. And they also don't spend it very wisely either.

Its says it gives it away in my opinion to the wrong places, but since when can you trust what the government says or does? There is no doubt that the legal citizen's need to have a piece of this pie we are currently being excluded from!
