I was getting a tubal sterilization procedure. At the same exact time, down to the minute. It was the most surreal feeling to wake up in the recovery room and hear the news. Literally, my first words to the nurse were, "What am I hearing on the television? Please tell me what happened?"

This was a big decision for me, as I was 27 at the time, and I have no children. The emotional response to this multiplied by 9/11 was so intense, I couldn't go into work the rest of the week. I still tear up every time I think about it, and about everyone that died that day.

I was at work, when a guy from Application Development ran to my team manager, to show it him on Sky News. The buzz of course grew, everyone huddled around and when the second plane struck, the 20th century was over.

I was in my high school calculus class. It was so sad. I remember watching the news, my teacher was crying. I thought, how could this happen? At the time I cant remember if we knew it was a terrorist act, but after I thought, how could someone be so heartless?

I was in my first semester of college and was in my First Aid class when I first heard. I felt pissed off that something so sensless and ruthless could occur to innocent people for no other reason than because we are different from these other people.

That was the most horrific thing I have ever witnessed. God be with those who are so lost that they need to fly planes into buildings.
