Because Times have changed, and not for the better. People have been burned before, and so have I MANY times, but I have a lot of hope for humanity. Have you noticed in the last 20 years manners have just gone. I open door for both men and women, give up my bus seat for a woman especially if she has bags, because that's the way I was raised. You also stand up when a woman walks into a room. I try but people today especially younger kids are rude, run the parents house hold ( NOT ALL mind you). Computers are also to blame. Everyone has forgotten to help thy neighbor or say hi to people on the bus. To be KIND to one another. God bless you (i"m not religious but good luck to you and I too am baffled at the situation in this country)

You have to earn people's trust. If we were to trust everyone then we would get screwed over a lot more than we actually do.

Some people are just out naturally to screw people over (trust me I am in forgeries in banking industry). They have it in themselves to hurt others and steal from others no matter the consequence or how it makes the person feel.

I am one that does easily trust but I have had to teach myself to be more suspicious, because if I am not I will get hurt in the end.

Well, in my case, I am very cautious about who I trust because of the results of past relationships. You carry that pain with you in the back of your mind and heart as you go into another relationship. It isn't fair to the person whom you don't trust, because they haven't hurt you (yet), and may not have plans to hurt you, but it's so hard to trust after being hurt by those who claim to love you the most.

In our society, we are becoming further apart from one another. The only people someone can naturally trust is their immediate family.

Because people spend too much time thinking rather than doing. It's so easy to sit around and think and think. Your mind has a way of bringing up so many scenarios that just aren't true. That's why people believe in the devil. it's easier to think negatively than it is to think positive. I say trust someone to the point that's comfortable.

You can, to a degree, knowing people are incapable of implicit trust precisely because of the fact that they are human. Yet, we love. There are those we'd die for. Some afraid of committing to that degree. But, generally? You're not gonna run into many like that if at all. I certainly don't know anybody like that yet. As far as society goes, it is far from innocent and precursor to more than you'll know.

I'M USUALLY A VERY TRUSTING PERSON AND AM LOOKING FOR THE BEST IN EVERY ONE. I JUST THINK IT TAKES TIME TO REALLY GET TO KNOW PEOPLE AND THEN THE TRUST COMES. WHEN YOUR WITH SOME ONE YOU CAN SEE HOW THEY ACT AND IF THEY ARE TRUSTING PEOPLE. MOST ARE.

it's hard to trust others because trust is such an intimate and fragile feeling that needs to be built up. and it is 100000 times easier to break a trust than gain it. people don't want to be burned later on. or they don't want to spend the time getting to know someone to see if they can be trusted.
