Most pet stores have age limits that are set right around 16, and it's the same for most shelters. If there is a particular type of animal that your child is interested in, you might try finding a local breeder who will usually love the opportunity to help foster the love of animals in children, or if there isn't a particular animal, you could get your child involved in the local 4-H group so that he/she could experience many different animals and find one that he/she particularly enjoys working with. Hope it helps!

Hi Jo, You might want to get ahold of the spca, and find out if theres a age limit for volunteer work.If there are not,They may have a job for you,or could tell you where to go to volunteer to help out.I give you thumbs up, for being so young, and wanting to do something for animals to make things better for them.Your a great kid.

I doubt that a big chain pet store will allow you to help because of the laws and perhaps injury. I suggest you go to a private owned groomer in your neighborhood and ask if there are some things that you can help her do at the shope where she grooms the dogs. Also you might go to a boarding kennel. They have many jobs that need to be done and at the sametime you can be around the animals that have been boarded.

Call your local humane society. They will have something for you to do, like walk dogs, help feed animals. and care for them. Offer to donate your services and take a bag a dog or car food to give to them also. They always need supplies. If that doesnt work offer to help your neighbors with there pets.
