If u got your phone disconected can you receive calls and msgs?

Ok only people with T-Mobile. Someone told me that he got his phone disconected cos he didnt pay. But that he still could receive calls and msgs. I have cingular and for all i know if your phone is disconected you cant make or receive calls... So with T-Mobile you can receive or what??

NO. If you didn't pay your electric bill you wouldn't expect your lights to go on so why should you expect a disconnected cell phone to work? Maybe your friend the non-payer just tried his phone before they were done disconnecting it
