I have a male friend whose 13 year old daughter is pregnant. He is hitting the roof because her mom told him that she approves of it. As a matter of fact, she suggested that "Monica" become pregnant now so that she can grow up with the baby. She even said that she will have more time later in life to enjoy herself while she is still young and will have her babies out the way.
Oh yeah, after Monica has this baby the mom is already planning for her to have another within 3 months.

Sorry, I was a little taken aback! The question is...
I would like to know if this is a sign of the times (that is is acceptable behavior by the mom) or if people feel like me that you should be financially and emotionally ready to have a baby?

First of all the mother is screwed up for lack of a better word and secondly having her have another baby in 3 months isn't safe because her body isn't even over the first pregnancy so she would be putting her daughter at risk not to mention the risk she already has being pregnant so young.....our bodies at that age aren't ready for a baby.......we are not done growing yet so we get most of the nutrition (food) and the baby only gets some. If i was the dad I would take that mother to a psych award and have my 13 year old daughter make the decision if she indeed want to have the baby or get an abortion not to also mention that she can't have a childhood now because she will be a mom herself.....and getting out of the way isn't what you are supposed to do you are supposed to be married and in love then have a kid......not be a kid yourself having a kid.......its people like that that make this world such a messed up cruel place. Sorry just my opinion.......personally i think you should call social services on the mom but then maybe the dad would get into trouble to but that girl needs to get away from her mom.......i mean unprotected sex puts you at risk for so many diseases and viruses some you have to live the rest of your life with and it also shortens your life......i don't know what that mom is on but she should get off of it now......god that just pisses me off.

Well my suggestion is to ask your friend to talk to her, not as a father but as a friend, to just be there for here emotionally cause at her age and situation she'll really need it. There's no turning back the girl is already pregnant and trust me I don't have any kids but she won't want to have another baby for a while no matter what the mom asks her to do. And to the mom, she might want to seek some physiological help cause she's not normal.

ok im a teenage mother to be...at 17...but even i think that having a 13 year old daughter pregnant is wrong..."monica" isnt even fully developed herself...and first off being pregnant could kill her...and her mother needs to see that....in my book "WTEWE" it says that under 17 pregnancies tend to have more problems due to insuffcient nutrients and supply due to the fact that she is still growing...i agree slightly that starting young will leave "free time" but not that young...18 at the youngest ( i know im a hipocrit) her mom needs to be thrown in prison...its good to have support when your a teenage mom...but when 13 you shouldnt even be having sex...let alone a baby...

No this is not a sign of times ! That mother should see a shrink . Her daughters baby could come out with serious medical problems.

you didnt exactly give the question but seems to me as if the mom's head needs to be examined and its really nothing to be done about the whole situation. just pray about it and try to be strong. if i were you i would advise your friend to devorce this chick. i mean, what kinda mom would advise her daughter to get pregnant at 13??!!? i mean she's not even legal yet. tell her friend that although his daughter has made a mistake, dont treat her any different. he should still play his role as a good supporting father.

No this isn't a sign of the times and no this situation has NOTHING to do with being financially or emotionally ready. this is just all out child abuse and your friend needs to get off his duff and help his daughter.

I'm sorry to hear that Monica doesn't get to have a child hood at all because of her mother wanting to have baby's . her mother needs here a** kick and someone needs to call dhs on her mother.

If all that is true, you need to call child protection services...that woman is abusing her daughter....And the male friend might want to try and seek custody of his daugheter...once the baby is born, it should be put up for adoption

I think that the Dad needs to get a good lawyer and get full custody of the child before this "mother" ruins her life. This mother isn't stable and certainly doesn't have her daughter's welfare at heart. Tell the father to get his daughter out of that situation and fast.

That mom needs to go to a mental ward. Does she understand that it is she who will be raising this baby. If that's what she wanted then why didn't she get pregnant herself. She is absolutely nuts and out of her mind!!!!!
